Behavioral Product Design
Develop Products that People Truly Want.
Developing digital products & services is expensive and risky – especially if they miss the target audience’s needs. 8 out of 10 products fail! Behavioral Product Design combines psychology, AI, and real user behavior to test, validate, and further develop ideas early on.
What we do differently
Fewer Surveys. More Real Insights!
What customers claim and what they actually do often diverges. Behavioral Product Design closes this gap. The idea is “If you buy it, we will build it” instead of “If we build it, you will buy it”.

What You get from Us
Behavioral Design + AI Power
The conception & development of new product ideas in Behavioral Product Design is based on behavioral psychological principles from our standard work PsyConversion®. Furthermore, the approach utilizes “Silicon Personas” which represent the needs of customers.

Product and Price Validation
We validate product ideas and find out what works and what doesn’t. For this, we use so-called “Painted Door Tests,” where your users are directed via an ad to a non-indexed product page. Every behavior measured there thus reflects an exact real-world scenario.

Robust Business Case
We ensure that you invest in the right product. Before development, we validate the business case: with real user reactions, functioning value propositions, clear product-market fit, target audience needs, and optimal pricing strategy.

Behavioral Product Design Explained
- What are Silicon Personas?
-
Silicon Personas are AI-based, virtual target audience profiles generated from aggregated and weighted user data. They are used early in the development process and impressively simulate real customers. Through targeted prompting, they provide precise insights into needs, behavior patterns, and pain points – thus enabling a data-driven alignment of product ideas with the actual requirements of the target audience.
- How does Behavioral Product Design deliver a data-driven, robust business case?
-
Behavioral Product Design delivers a data-driven, robust business case by subjecting product ideas developed with the help of behavioral psychological principles and AI to Fake Door Tests.
This allows important key questions to be answered before the final development of the product idea:
- Were product concepts developed with a good product-market fit?
- Which value propositions and advertising materials work?
- Can demand be generated? If so, for which target audience?
- What are the optimal price points for the product?
Finally, we can precisely quantify the “Cost per Order Intention,” how large the achievable market can be estimated, and what revenue and earnings potential a new product has.
- How exactly does Painted Door Testing work?
-
Painted Door Testing serves to validate your product ideas. Behavioral psychology has taught us the following insights about human consciousness: Customers, without actually being in a real decision-making situation, cannot correctly state how they would behave in a certain situation and therefore cannot answer in a survey whether they would buy a product or not. Therefore, it is crucial that the selected concept variants are tested against the real purchasing behavior of customers.
For this, ads are placed on social media platforms or Google, which bring real people in real need situations to real landing pages, which, like the advertising materials, were developed based on Behavioral Design and with the help of AI. In the ads, customers encounter the product presentation of the product ideas and make real purchasing decisions. Afterward, it is disclosed in an appreciative and cooperative manner that it was a test. Thus, we sell your product ideas – if desired, under anonymous names – to real customers under real environmental conditions before they have even been developed.
- How exactly is the right target audience for my product idea determined?
-
During Fake Door Testing, ads are displayed on social media platforms or Google. Because the algorithms of social media and advertising platforms are optimized for maximizing interaction with ad banners, they always display our ads where the probability of encountering existing interest is highest. Thus, they accurately identify the optimal target audience, which we can then extensively understand directly with the help of social media profiles and address later on.
- How are the best-performing product idea and product price identified?
-
During Fake Door Testing, ads are placed on social media platforms or Google, which bring real people in real need situations to real landing pages where real purchasing decisions are made.
During this process, it is determined what click-through rates (CTR) and costs per click the individual product ideas entail. At the end of Fake Door Testing, the exact marketing costs per product order for the individual product ideas can then be determined, and the best-performing product concept can be identified.
With the product idea that performed best during Fake Door Testing, we then proceed to an iterative optimization, where we determine the subtleties of product composition and ideal pricing using the same methodology.
- Who is Behavioral Product Design suitable for?
-
Our approach is particularly suitable for teams and organizations that want to not only intuitively develop innovative ideas but also systematically validate them before investing in extensive development and rollouts.
Whether product management, UX/UI design, marketing, business development, or strategy departments – Behavioral Product Design creates added value wherever central questions need to be answered:
- Which product ideas are truly promising?
- Which target audiences respond best to my value proposition?
- Which pricing strategy maximizes my conversion and revenue?
- How can I make informed marketing decisions – based on real user behavior instead of mere surveys?
Especially in the interplay of product and marketing, the strength of the approach becomes apparent: With methods like Painted Door Testing, Silicon Personas, and real-world data, a robust business case is created – and this applies not only to new products but also to repositioning, market strategies, or optimizations of existing offerings.
Behavioral Product Design is thus ideal for companies that truly want to listen to their customers – and are willing to make data-driven decisions that show impact.
